Bluebird for Happiness
Feeling a little blue? Then make a bluebird! Seeing it soar will cheer you up in no time.
Materials:Glue, Scissors, Paper clip, Pencil, Thread, Crayons, Blue construction paper
Instructions:- Fold the blue construction paper in half. Trace a pattern of a bird on the paper using the folded part of the construction paper as the bird's belly.
- Carefully cut the bird shape.
- Open the pattern and draw in the details of the feathers, eyes, and a beak.
- Turn the bird over and apply glue to the body and head areas. Press together until dry.
- To curl the wings, place a pencil under the wing and your thumb over the wing. Carefully pull the pencil along the wing. Repeat for the other wing. Be careful not to be too hard.
- Tie a paper clip to a piece of string. Clip the paper clip to the back of the bird. Move the clip as needed until the bird is balanced.
- You are ready to hang up your bluebird. The wings will float up and down in the breeze.
